Sorry for the hiatus, but we had a busy holiday season. The doctor is back,
however, and is looking forward to prescribing great gift ideas in 2010. We're kicking off the year by promoting a local Pittsburgh company. Mitchell Glassworks has found a fantastic use for glass bottles of many kinds! Vintage soda, wine, champagne, micro-brew bottles and more become spoon rests, cheese plates or even wall decor when heated and melted flat to create a smooth, durable surface. Paper labels will obviously melt off, but if the bottle has a painted label, it will remain and be part of the design. Soda and beer bottles make perfect spoon rests to use in the kitchen or outside by the grill. Larger bottles form into functional cheese plates that each come with a spreader. These are perfect gifts for many occasions including housewarming, hostess, birthdays and more!
Pair a piece with a set of recycled glasses from The Green Glass Company for a complete and fabulous gift!
